The 8th International Conference on Chinese Immersion Education

The 8th International Conference on Chinese Immersion Education will be held on November 6-7, 2026 (US time), with the purpose of bringing together educators, researchers, and practitioners involved in K–12 Chinese immersion programs to exchange ideas and advance effective teaching practices. 

With the theme “Advancing K–12 Chinese Immersion: Pedagogy in Practice”, the conference highlights the following topics: 

  • Innovative instructional strategies in immersion classrooms;
  • Curriculum design and development for immersion programs;
  • Enhancing student engagement and supporting diverse learners;
  • Assessment and evaluation of bilingual learners;
  • Integrating culture and technology into Chinese immersion teaching.

“AI Tools and Chinese Immersion Instruction”

Proposal Submission:
Practitioners, educators, and researchers are invited to submit proposals that align with the above conference theme and topics. Proposals should be written in English between 250–300 words, including: (1) a clear title; (2) a brief abstract describing what you will present and what your audience will take away after attending your session; and (3) a short presenter bio (50–100 words).

Online Breakout Sessions:
The conference will feature interactive online breakout sessions, designed to provide opportunities for presenters to share practical teaching experiences and demonstrate pedagogical approaches for 15 minutes, and additional 5 minutes for attendees to ask questions.
